Working hard to Listen and Communicate the Vision ofThe Gathering at Broadway

Brian Wiens
PastorAs Pastor at The Gathering, Brian gives oversight to our interactive teaching and worship week to week. Brian is not afraid to ask the hard questions of life and leads in a way that provides space to ask questions, discuss, and seek to know Jesus and His intention for the world.
Brian’s life quest has been to find peace - peace with himself and peace with God. Along his journey through academics, athletics, and health issues, Brian found the love of Jesus and was inspired to use his life to help others sort out what it means to follow Jesus too. Throughout the week you can often find him at Broadway Roastery with a tea in hand or outdoors camping, biking, and canoeing.
“To serve the church so that people experience the love of Christ and learn to follow Him.” - Pastor Brian Wiens 306-914-2954

Helena Harder
Praying ServantHelena is a devoted mother, grandmother (6 grandchildren) and now great-grandmother to a little boy! Helena recently retired from a career as a registered nurse but still works casual on occasion in a dialysis unit. She is passionate about prayer and rarely misses the weekly prayer gathering on Zoom. She brings a quiet wisdom to this team.
Helena enjoys longs walks, podcasts that strengthen her faith in Jesus, and having coffee one on one with friends.
Her goal for life is expressed by Micah 6:8 – “… but (God’s) already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women . It's quite simple; do what is fair and just to your neighbour, be compassionate and loyal in your love and don't take yourself too seriously -- take God seriously ."

Levi Adams
Team ManLevi desires to be a man of integrity. He truly believes that what we do carries way more weight than what we say and leads by example on our Leadership Team.
Growing up here in Saskatoon and moving into the Broadway area, transition to The Gathering fit well and has become a great community for him and his family. Levi, unfortunately, finds himself in front of a computer for most of his work, so in his spare time he tries to spend it outdoors with his family or playing a few rounds of disc golf with friends.
“Actions speak louder than words.” - Abraham Lincoln

Jocelyn Friesen
Positive PresenceJocelyn came and stayed with The Gathering because she was looking for a community that was close, personal and focused on Jesus. She didn’t want to watch a church service, she wanted to be actively involved (to the point where people would notice and miss her presence if she was away one week). Jocelyn continues to live out those values: together with her husband Jonathan she has organized our coffee team for the last 5 years and has often been involved in one of our community groups and informal park get-togethers with other families.
Jocelyn was born and raised in Saskatoon. She is a high school math and commercial cooking teacher and loves baking, especially with chocolate. They have four children and a fast-paced life!
Jocelyn’s life purpose? In her words, “That’s a loaded question!! For friends and family to have a sense of belonging, being cared for and feel genuinely loved.”

Michael Donauer
MotivationMichael co-leads our setup and tear down with his wife April and is another member of our Leadership Team. His passion to find and take hold of meaningful opportunities has helped our community take steps towards the realization of our vision.
Being born and raised in Saskatoon, Michael has developed a deep love for this city and his family. Growing up in a Christian home, Jesus was never a stranger in his life. Through his teenage years he began to understand why his family believed what they believed and began to identify with his faith. Now you can find him playing disc golf, reading nonfiction, cooking with his wife, and just enjoying the journey of life.
“I thoroughly believe God put me hear to solve meaningful problems alongside great people. My favourite scripture is Isaiah 1:19 - If you're willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land.” - Michael Donauer
